1969 Triumph Trident T150

The 1969 Triumph Trident was the introductory year for Triumph’s new 750cc triple. Designated T150 (per Triumph custom of claiming a hypothetical top speed), the Trident had much in common with earlier Triumph Bonnevilles. For 1969, the new Triumph Trident utilized the Bonneville’s 8-inch TLS (Twin Leading Shoe) front brake, 7-inch SLS (Single Leading Shoe) rear brake, front forks, the gearbox, much of the frame, and tons of minor hardware. But it also benefited from a lifetime of experience that Triumph’s engineers had learned in dealing with Triumph’s twins, all those years.

This is an original UK market Matching Numbers Triumph T150T Trident. Manufactured in April of 1969 it spent the first 30 years of it's life in the UK until the second owner emigrated to New Zealand in 1999. From here it lay unused and unregistered for another 20 years. We brought it back to life over the last 9 months and put it through compliance. Receipts going back 40 years are included!

This has had a refurbishment not a restoration

Thousands spent. Clutch and engine are running great. Top end just had a fresh overhaul with new pistons(+.020"), rings, valves and valve guides. Our mechanic suspects it has racing cams installed. Sounds really good with the Ray Guns. The unique Breadbox Tank '69 models are becoming harder to find. You either love this design or you hate it.

The photos do not do the paint job justice. It looks even better in real life.
